eGain grew from an engineering insight: buildings could use energy more intelligently if their control systems understood more than the current outdoor temperature.
The business developed technology for intelligent energy optimisation and expanded beyond Sweden.
Building a technology company — from identifying a problem and developing a solution to recruiting people, winning customers, internationalising and working with professional investors — continues to influence how Otrobanda thinks about ownership.
In 2021, Egain joined forces with IWMAC, Cebyc and Moldeo to create Kiona.
